"People Skills" for Providers

2 AASECT CEs

Facilitator: Anne Hodder-Shipp, CSE

Managing client interactions and group dynamics can be challenging, especially for practitioners who want to divest from the authoritarian approaches they were trained to use. This interactive workshop will help attendees practice making space for empathy, compassion, and understanding while addressing conflict, disagreement, or harmful behaviors.

Attendees will review scenarios pulled from the facilitator’s 15 years of teaching experience to reinforce the tools and strategies outlined, while also imagining how they might have handled each situation in the moment.

“People Skills” for Providers is an opportunity for attendees to learn, examine, and practice strategies for engaging with clients in ways that respect everyone’s humanity - especially their own.
