Unveiling Desires: Race, Power, Kink, & Fetish examines a decade of community-generated BIPOC kink and fetish data collected from 2015–2024, including 1,261 self-reported submissions across approximately 256 categories of desire.
This course explores patterns and meaningful shifts in kink, BDSM, fantasy, and fetish preferences while considering how race, power, stigma, media visibility, and mainstream sexual narratives shape what people feel safe naming or exploring.
Participants will discuss how research grounded in Black and Brown lived experience can support more inclusive sexual-health conversations, reduce assumptions, and create space for clearer boundaries, self-definition, safety, and pleasure.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Identify at least three patterns or directional shifts reflected in the 2015–2024 Unveiling Desires BIPOC kink and fetish dataset.
Analyze at least two ways race, power, stigma, and representation may shape the disclosure and interpretation of kink and fetish interests.
Apply at least three culturally responsive strategies to a case scenario or professional conversation involving desire, boundaries, kink, or fetish interests without reinforcing shame or stereotypes.

Standard Price - $149: This is the cost and value of the workshop. Select this if the cost will not prevent you from meeting your housing, food, transportation, childcare, and other basic needs, even though it might mean you have to temporarily cut back on some non-essential spending.
Equity Price - $99: Select this if paying the Standard Price would mean your basic monthly needs, like housing, food, transportation, or childcare, would not be met or that your financial stability would be put at risk. If you choose this option but can genuinely afford the Standard Price, you are taking this option away from someone who genuinely needs it.
Community Price - $49: Select this rate if you are Black, Indigenous, Brown, Asian, Pacific Islander, or a member of the Global Majority. This is available only to people who are a part of this community. The Community Price is not available to white people.
This program meets the requirements for the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselor, and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 1.5 CEs that can be used toward obtaining or maintaining AASECT certification.
