Our Mission:
Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE) believes that everyone deserves affordable access to accurate, bias-aware, and LGBTQIA+ expansive sex, love, and relationship education. Our goal is to make this important information available and accessible to as many communities as possible, from professionals seeking continued education to parents eager to build the skills and confidence to talk to their kids about sex.
EDSE is an approved provider of continuing education (CE) credits for the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). These CE credits can be used toward AASECT certification and renewal.
Our Services:
EDSE provides a range of education-based services, and our educators are trauma-informed, professionally trained, and boast specialized knowledge in the field of human sexuality. (They’re also fun and engaging to work with and learn from!)

EDSE offers an online sex educator certification for anyone looking to jump-start their sex education career, supplement their current knowledge, add a credential to their resume, or learn to be an expansive and inclusive member of their community or industry.
EDSE hosts a variety of workshops that cover important subjects, including gender, affirmative consent, safer sex, sexual orientation, relationship dynamics, queer-centered sex ed, inclusive and expansive language, and more.
Access to accurate, affirming, and expansive sex ed is something most U.S. students (and the adults in charge of their care) have lacked. Having these talks can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be — and you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
Looking for professional development that counts toward your education, or can be completed in the comfort of your home? EDSE offers Sexual Attitude Reassessments (SARs), unique professional development, and workshops to supplement your current knowledge.
Who is EDSE?
Everyone Deserves Sex Education (EDSE) was founded by Anne Hodder-Shipp, CSE, (she/they pronouns) with the goal of creating an accessible space dedicated to providing accurate, compassionate, and expansive queer-inclusive sex education. Whether you’re a sex educator to-be, a parent preparing for “the talks,” or a professional looking for continued education, Anne’s mission is to provide a safer, supported, and friendly space in which clients can learn, grow, and get closer to their personal and professional goals.
A cum laude graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, Anne’s journalism and sociology studies inspired a unique perspective of the public eye, which led them to work as a journalist before entering the world of sex education. Anne received their first certification and endorsement in 2015 by the renowned San Francisco Sex Information program and continued their training via Planned Parenthood Los Angeles’s School Based Sex Education Program, where they honed a special skill for working with adolescents. In 2021, Anne received certification from the renowned Kinsey Institute’s Human Sexuality Intensive and completed ANTE UP!’s justice-centered education certification in 2022, and she continues to complete professional development related to mental health, sexuality and identity, neurodiversity, reproductive justice and healthcare, and other important topics that impact their work and community. Most recently, the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) honored Anne with the Professional Standard of Excellence award.
Anne also is the author of Speaking from the Heart: 18 Languages for Modern Love, an important expansive update to the classic love language concept that centers platonic love, de-emphasizes romance, and intentionally challenges gender, sexuality, and relationship norms.
